Channel-scoped refinement
Change the thing you asked to change and nothing else.

The problem with re-prompting
In prompt-first tools, asking for warmer light regenerates the whole shot: new face, new wardrobe, new camera. Every note costs a full re-roll of everything you had approved.
How Cadenza refines
refine_shot takes the shot and the change. The shot's canonical object is updated in the channel you touched (lighting, camera, action, and so on), continuity references stay locked, untouched shots are untouched by construction, and determinism keeps the rest of the sequence stable.
refine_shot request
{
"original_intent": "15 second trail shoe launch film",
"shot_id": "shot_3",
"change": "warmer, lower sunrise key light"
}Billing implications
A refinement bills as the work it causes, one shot's render, not as a new project. See billing.
